ClickSend alternative
A Managed Alternative To ClickSend
Two-way conversation that stays inside Zoho. Replies land on the record, and nothing about your customers leaves your own Zoho account: no vendor dashboard, no copy of your data, no phone home. Send one message or send to a whole list, and every reply lands back on the record in SMS History.
What makes it different
- Nothing phones home
- Two way, not one way
- Your Twilio, your rates
- Personalized at any volume
- Every number, not just one
- History follows the record
The short version
Cascadia, compared with ClickSend
ClickSend retired its SMS integration for Zoho CRM on 31 December 2025, and now points Zoho users at its own Automation Builder or at Sinch. Most texting tools for Zoho Desk work the same way. You install a connector, and your contact and account records start flowing out to somebody else’s platform so their application can send the message and hold the thread.

What the managed part actually means
The exchange an escalation later gets judged on now lives outside your help desk. This extension takes the opposite approach and never sends anything back to us.
Personalized at any volume
Dynamic text pulls values out of the record as each message is sent.
Every number, not just one
Records rarely hold a single phone number. The extension detects every phone field on a contact or account, including custom ones, and lets you choose which to text.
History follows the record
One issue closes and the next one opens, and the whole thread stays in one place, so whichever agent picks up that account in six months can read what was said without piecing it together.
Nothing phones home
We hold no copy and run no dashboard on our side. There is nothing for us to lose in a breach and nothing for you to ask us to delete, because we were never holding it.
Who this comparison is for
Support teams working urgent tickets
A text gets read faster than an email and people actually answer it.
Support leads handling outages and escalations
When something is down, everybody affected needs telling at once, and templates plus dynamic fields mean the message writes itself from each record. Schedule it ahead of a maintenance window.
Teams working under strict data rules
Support desks hold the details a customer would least like copied elsewhere. Account numbers and whatever they typed into the ticket while they were frustrated.
How the Zoho Desk SMS integration works
Four steps, and none of them involve standing anything up. You install the extension from the Zoho Marketplace, connect your Twilio credentials, and start texting from a record.
- 1
We assess your current setup
First we look at how things run today: what you already pay for, what is configured where, and which parts are actually causing you trouble.
- 2
Install from the Zoho Marketplace
Find the extension on the Zoho Marketplace and install it into your organization the same way you would any other.
- 3
Connect your own Twilio account
Because the account is yours, message charges are billed to you at Twilio rates and your delivery records stay in your own console.
- 4
Text a record and watch the reply land
Select several records to send in bulk, or schedule it for later. Every reply is written back to SMS History against the person who sent it.
The difference that matters
No second account, no second system
Both options give you two-way texting on your Zoho Desk records, and on paper the feature lists look similar. The difference is architectural. ClickSend is a messaging platform you sign up for, and your conversations run through it. Ours is built in Deluge and runs inside your own Zoho account against your own Twilio credentials, so there is no ClickSend account to hold, no vendor dashboard to log into, and no copy of your customer data anywhere but Zoho.
If your objection to texting from Zoho Desk has ever been “who else ends up holding this data”, that is the question this answers.
Where ClickSend stands now
What ClickSend does, in their own words
ClickSend retired its SMS integration for Zoho CRM on 31 December 2025. Their help center now files the Zoho CRM guide under Discontinued and points Zoho users at other ClickSend products instead. What follows is what that page says.

See Twilio SMS for Zoho DeskWhy would I switch from ClickSend to Cascadia?
One reason is that messages stay personal at any volume. Dynamic text pulls values out of the record as each message is sent. Names, reference numbers, or anything else on the contact or account populates automatically, so a message going to three hundred people still reads like it was written for one of them.
Does any of our data leave Zoho?
No. The extension is built in Deluge and runs inside your own Zoho account, using your own Twilio credentials. Message content stays in your SMS History module, and we have no access to it.
How do I install it?
Through the Zoho Marketplace, the same way as any other Zoho extension. Install it into your organization, connect your Twilio credentials in the setup screen, and an agent can send their first message from a record right away. There is nothing to host, no server to stand up, and no package to install anywhere else.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. The Zoho Marketplace listing offers a ten day free trial so you can install it, connect your Twilio account, and send real messages before committing to anything. Trials cannot be extended, so it is worth having your Twilio credentials ready before you start the clock on it.
What is this Zoho Desk SMS integration?
It is a Zoho Desk extension that lets you text your contacts and accounts using your own Twilio account. An agent can search for one customer and send a single message, or select a group and send to all of them at once. Replies come back into the SMS History module against the record they belong to, so the whole conversation stays readable inside Zoho Desk.
How is this different from the SMS notifications Zoho Desk already sends?
Zoho Desk can fire SMS notifications outward, but the conversation ends there because a reply has nowhere useful to land. This extension captures the reply and logs it against the record, and it lets an agent send in bulk rather than one notification at a time. That turns SMS from an alerting channel into something a customer can actually answer.
Do I need my own Twilio account?
Yes. You connect your own Twilio account and use your own numbers, so carrier charges are billed to you directly at Twilio rates rather than resold through us with a margin on top. It also means your message records sit in your Twilio console under your name, and you can change providers or numbers whenever you want.
Which records can I text from?
Contacts and accounts. You text the people on the record rather than a ticket, which means the conversation belongs to the customer relationship rather than to one case. That keeps the thread readable as tickets open and close over the life of the account.
Can I send a text to more than one customer at once?
Yes. Select the records you want and compose the message once. Everybody selected receives it, and each send is logged against that individual record rather than into one shared pile. That is the fastest way to tell every affected customer about an outage or a maintenance window without opening a ticket each time.
Where do replies show up?
In the SMS History module, as a new entry linked to the record that replied. Nobody has to copy anything across or watch a separate inbox. Because history is attached to the record itself, any agent who picks up that account later can read the full exchange without asking around for context.
Can you see my messages or my customer records?
No. The extension has no phone home capability. It runs inside your Zoho environment and does not transmit your records, phone numbers, or message content to us. We hold no copy of any of it, and there is no vendor side dashboard collecting data in the background. This is the main structural difference between this extension and most alternatives.
Where does the extension actually run?
Entirely on the Zoho platform, written in Deluge. There is no embedded third party interface, no external web application, and no separate service your data has to travel through. Everything happens inside your own Zoho Desk deployment, which keeps the data boundary simple to explain to a security reviewer or an auditor.
