Managed Zoho People

Zoho People for Onboarding, Attendance and Timesheets

Most HR work goes wrong in the gaps, the onboarding step nobody owns, the leave balance calculated by hand, the timesheet that never reaches payroll. Managed Zoho People puts employee records, onboarding, attendance, leave, timesheets, and reviews in one system we configure and run for you.

With Cascadia you get

  • We configure your actual policies
  • Onboarding that runs without reminders
  • Time that reaches payroll
  • Permissions set on purpose
  • Your account, your data
  • Connected to the rest of Zoho

Why teams choose our Zoho People service

We configure your actual policies

Your leave rules are not the ones in the setup wizard. We build your accrual schedules, carryover caps, waiting periods, and approval chains into the system, then test them against real scenarios before an employee ever sees a balance.

Onboarding that runs without reminders

A new hire should not depend on somebody remembering eleven steps. We build the flow so acceptance triggers the paperwork, the equipment request, the account setup, and the manager checklist, each with an owner and a due date.

Time that reaches payroll

Attendance and leave only matter if they arrive at payroll correctly. We connect Zoho People to Zoho Payroll and Books, map approved hours and deductions, and check that mapping each cycle rather than assuming a policy change did not break it.

Managed Zoho People compared with running HR on spreadsheets

Anybody can build employee records and a leave request form. Writing rules that still reconcile at year end, keeping onboarding from dropping steps, and holding permissions tight through role changes is a different job, and it is the part that usually gets postponed.

What to compareHow Cascadia handles it
Getting leave rules rightWe build accruals, caps, and waiting periods against your written policy, then test them on real scenarios before anybody relies on a number.
Onboarding that drops stepsAutomated onboarding assigns every task with an owner and a due date, so a missed equipment request shows up as an open item rather than a surprise on somebody’s first morning.
Chasing timesheets every monthTimesheets with approval routing and automatic reminders close on schedule, and the approved hours move through to payroll and invoicing without anybody transcribing them.
Who can see whatWe configure the role model deliberately, document it, and revisit it when your structure changes rather than after somebody notices.
Growing into the wider Zoho suiteWe manage the wider Zoho environment, so when an HR problem turns out to be a payroll mapping problem, we say so, and we flag when Zoho One costs less than adding apps one by one.
What it costs next monthA flat monthly rate makes the cost predictable and puts the incentive on us to keep the system current rather than to bill hours.

Who our managed Zoho People service fits best

Companies outgrowing spreadsheet HR

Somewhere past twenty people, the spreadsheet stops being good enough and starts being a liability. We migrate your records and leave balances without losing history, build your policies into the system, and switch on self service so HR stops answering the same five questions every week.

Get started

Multi location and multi state employers

Different states mean different leave requirements, holiday calendars, and work weeks, and one generic policy will eventually be wrong for somebody. We build location specific rules and calendars so balances calculate correctly per group instead of forcing everyone onto the configuration that suited your first office.

Get started

Businesses running hourly and shift staff

Shift work needs real attendance rather than an honor system. We configure rotations and schedules, set check in by web, mobile with location, or biometric device, and build regularization so a missed punch becomes a request instead of an email chain.

Whether you are moving off spreadsheets or inheriting a Zoho People account somebody configured two years ago, the sequence is the same.

How our managed Zoho People service works

1. We audit and load your people data

We start with what you have, whether that is spreadsheets, another HR system, or a half configured Zoho account. Employee records, org structure, and current leave balances get mapped and loaded so history comes across rather than everyone starting at zero.

Get started

2. We build the policies and workflows

Next come the rules that make the system yours, meaning leave accruals and caps, holiday calendars and work weeks, attendance and shift patterns, onboarding and offboarding flows, and the permission model that decides who sees what. We test each one against real scenarios, then turn on self service so employees handle their own requests instead of emailing HR.

Get started

3. We keep it correct as you change

From there you get the ongoing work, meaning policy changes configured when you make them, new hires and exits running through the workflows, payroll mapping checked every cycle, and a monthly summary of headcount, turnover, leave liability, and anything still open. You send priorities and we build them into the following month.

What is managed Zoho People?

Managed Zoho People is a subscription where we run your Zoho People HR system for you at a flat monthly rate. That covers the initial configuration, employee records, onboarding and offboarding workflows, attendance, leave, timesheets, performance cycles, and document compliance, plus the ongoing changes as your policies and headcount shift. You get the HR system configured properly and kept correct, without hiring an HR systems administrator to do it.

What does Zoho People actually do?

Zoho People is Zoho’s HR management system. It holds employee records and org structure, runs onboarding and offboarding, tracks attendance and shifts, manages leave policies and balances, collects timesheets, runs performance reviews and goals, delivers training, and stores HR documents with signature and acknowledgment tracking. It is the system of record for your people, and it connects to Zoho Payroll, Recruit, CRM, Books, and Analytics.

Do I need my own Zoho People license?

Yes, and that is deliberate. The subscription is yours, billed to your company, in your own Zoho account. We work inside it as an administrator. Every employee record, document, and configuration belongs to you, so if you ever stop working with us nothing has to be exported out of an agency account or handed back. You keep the system and the data, and we hand over the admin access.

Is Zoho People part of Zoho One?

Yes. Zoho People is included in Zoho One, along with CRM, Books, Desk, Projects, and the rest of the suite. If you already run two or three Zoho apps, Zoho One is usually cheaper than paying for them separately.

How is Zoho People different from Zoho Payroll?

They do different jobs and they work together. Zoho People is the HR system, holding employee records, leave, attendance, timesheets, and performance. Zoho Payroll calculates and pays wages and handles tax filing. People feeds Payroll the approved time and leave that determines what somebody gets paid. We configure that connection and check the mapping each cycle so a leave policy change does not quietly break a pay run.

How does Zoho People compare to BambooHR or Gusto?

Zoho People covers a wider range of HR functions than most tools at its price, particularly attendance, shift management, timesheets, and performance. Where it wins clearly is integration, because your CRM, accounting, help desk, and HR sit in one suite with one login and one data model. Where dedicated platforms sometimes lead is polish and out of the box US payroll and benefits. The setup work is what closes that gap, and that is what we do.

Can you migrate our HR data out of spreadsheets?

Yes, and that is where most of these projects start. We take your employee spreadsheets, leave balance trackers, and document folders, map them to the right fields, and load them so history comes across rather than starting everyone at zero. We check the result against your records before anybody relies on it, because a leave balance that is wrong by two days will cost you more trust than the migration saved.

How long does Zoho People implementation take?

For a straightforward setup with clean employee data, expect the core system running in two to four weeks. Employee records, org structure, leave policies, and attendance come first, then onboarding workflows, then performance and training once people are using the system daily. Complicated leave rules, multiple locations, or messy source data extend that. We sequence it so you get the parts people use every day working first.

Will Zoho People handle our leave policies?

In our experience yes, including accrual schedules, carryover caps, waiting periods, unlimited policies, and different rules per location or employee group. Leave configuration is the single most common thing companies get wrong on their own, because the rules interact in ways that only show up months later at year end. We build the rules, then test them against real scenarios before employees see a balance.

Can employees use it from their phones?

Yes. Zoho People has mobile apps for iOS and Android where employees check in and out, request leave and see balances, submit timesheets, view the directory, and complete assigned tasks and training. Managers approve from the same app. We configure what the mobile experience shows and, where you need it, set location based check in so field and site staff can record attendance from where they actually work.

Does it work for hourly and shift workers?

Yes, and that is one of its stronger areas. We configure shift patterns, rotations, and schedules, set the check in method that suits the work, whether that is web, mobile with location, or a biometric device, and build regularization rules so a missed punch gets corrected through a request rather than an email chain. Approved hours then flow through to payroll without retyping.

Who can see sensitive employee information?

Exactly who you decide. We configure roles and permissions so managers see their own team and nothing beyond it, restrict compensation and sensitive fields to the people who need them, and set document sharing deliberately rather than leaving defaults in place. HR data is the most sensitive data most companies hold, so we treat the permission model as part of the build rather than an afterthought.

What if we already have Zoho People set up badly?

That is a common starting point and it is usually fixable. We audit what is there, find what is misconfigured or abandoned, and tell you plainly what is worth repairing versus rebuilding. Leave rules and permissions are the usual problem areas. We correct them without wiping the history you have accumulated, and you get a written record of what changed and why.

What happens if we want to cancel or bring this in house?

You keep everything. The Zoho subscription is in your name, all employee records and documents stay in your account, and the configuration remains exactly as it is. We hand over administrator access and documentation of how the workflows, leave rules, and integrations are built. There is no lock in and no export process, because the system was never sitting inside anything of ours.
