Sage Intacct alternative

A Managed Alternative To Sage Intacct

Zoho Billing can run every subscription, invoice, and renewal you have, once someone builds the plans, connects a gateway, and watches what fails. That part is a job. We handle it on a flat monthly plan: pricing configured the way you actually sell, invoices and tax set up correctly, expired cards chased down before they turn into churn, and revenue numbers that reconcile with your books.

With Cascadia you get

  • Someone watching your charges
  • Dunning tuned, not defaulted
  • Pricing that bills the way you sell
  • Tax handled before it bites
  • Your account, your customers
  • Fewer billing tickets to answer

The short version

The short case for Cascadia over Sage Intacct

The billing run completes. The dashboard looks normal. The money is simply a few percent lighter than it should be, every cycle, until somebody sits down and reconciles.

What the managed part actually means

Failed charges are worked rather than logged. And what you invoiced is reconciled against what actually arrived, monthly, because those two figures part company more often than anyone expects.

Someone watching your charges

A gateway that stops authorizing does not announce itself. Charges simply start failing, and the shortfall turns up a month later in a revenue figure nobody questions.

Dunning tuned, not defaulted

Most failed payments are expired cards, not decisions to leave. Default retry schedules ignore that, so you lose customers who never meant to go anywhere.

Pricing that bills the way you sell

Tiered rates, usage charges, and mid-cycle upgrades are easy to design and hard to configure.

Tax handled before it bites

Sales tax, VAT, and GST rules differ by jurisdiction and by product, and they change without telling you.

Who this comparison is for

Agencies billing monthly retainers

Retainer invoicing eats hours and rarely looks consistent between accounts.

Subscription and SaaS businesses

When revenue arrives monthly or annually from a plan, billing stops being admin and starts being the product working.

Businesses still invoicing by hand

Manual invoicing is slow, easy to get wrong, and it always slips in a busy month.

How our managed Zoho Billing service works

Whether you are starting from an empty Zoho Billing organization or inheriting one somebody else configured, the sequence is the same. We work out how you charge, build the plans and test them against a full cycle, then go live and keep it running afterward.

  1. 1

    We assess your current setup

First we look at how things run today: what you already pay for, what is configured where, and which parts are actually causing you trouble.

  2. 2

We map how you actually charge

If your pricing has a rule nobody ever wrote down, this is where it surfaces, rather than three cycles later.

  3. 3

We build the plans and test a cycle

Billing that goes live unverified produces confident invoices that happen to be wrong, and those cost far more to unwind than to prevent.

  4. 4

We go live and keep it collecting

We migrate your active subscriptions, switch on the dunning and reminder sequences, and hand over access with permissions already sorted.

How Sage Intacct works

What Sage Intacct does, in their own words

Sage Intacct is a cloud financial management platform sold on quote. The figures below are partner and analyst reports read in September 2026.

Entry subscriptions reported around $9,000 to $12,000 a yearFor one business user on core financials. A partner guide states $12,000 as the starting annual subscription.
Typical deployments reported at $25,000 to $35,000 a yearThat is the average annual subscription a partner quotes for small mid-market customers before add-ons.
Modules are priced separatelyProject accounting, revenue recognition and multi-entity consolidation sit outside core financials, commonly adding $3,000 to $10,000 a year each.
Implementation is a serious line itemAnalyst records put it at $25,000 to $150,000, and commonly at 100 to 175 percent of the first-year subscription.
Annual uplifts of 3 to 7 percent are reportedWorth modeling over a three-year horizon rather than judging on year one.
Built for a finance function that existsIt assumes controllers and an implementation partner. That is the right fit for some businesses and a heavy lift for others.

Why would I switch from Sage Intacct to Cascadia?

One reason is that someone watches your charges. A gateway that stops authorizing does not announce itself. Charges simply start failing, and the shortfall turns up a month later in a revenue figure nobody questions.

How is this different from hiring a Zoho consultant hourly?

An hourly consultant fits a project with a start and an end. Billing is not that. Cards expire, tax rules shift, gateways change their APIs, and every new pricing idea needs configuration. Each of those becomes a small negotiation when you bill by the hour. A subscription removes the friction: monitoring is continuous, small changes do not need a quote, and we keep context on your setup between requests.

Do you work with Zoho Billing inside Zoho One?

Yes. Zoho Billing is included in Zoho One, and many of our clients reach it that way. The management work is the same either way. If you run several Zoho applications, our Zoho One bundle covers the whole ecosystem rather than one app at a time, which usually costs less once you are managing more than a few apps.

What if we have more than 1,000 active subscriptions?

Tell us and we will quote it. Higher subscription counts usually mean more failed charges to work, more edge cases in proration, and more reporting demand, so the plan scales with the volume. We would rather price that openly than take on more than the standard plan covers and let response times slip.

How long does onboarding take?

Most setups are running within two to four weeks. The first stage covers access, a review of your current pricing and billing state, and gateway connections. The second covers building plans, configuring invoices and tax, and testing a full billing cycle before it touches real customers. Migrations from another platform take longer, and we will say so up front.

Is there a contract or minimum term?

The subscription is monthly with no long-term commitment. You can cancel with notice, and because everything lives in your own Zoho account, you keep every plan, customer record, invoice, and workflow we built. We would rather earn the renewal each month than rely on a contract to keep an unhappy client in place.

How do I get started?

Start with a consultation. We look at how you charge today, what is breaking, and where your billing data lives, then confirm whether the standard plan covers it. From there we take access, connect your gateway, build or repair your plans, and test a cycle end to end. If your requirements are bigger than the subscription, we will say so and quote the project.

What is managed Zoho Billing?

Managed Zoho Billing is an ongoing subscription where we run your Zoho Billing environment for you. That covers plan and pricing setup, subscription changes, invoice and tax configuration, payment gateway connections, dunning and failed payment recovery, and recurring revenue reporting. Instead of assigning billing admin work to someone in finance who already has a job, you have a team inside your setup handling it month to month.

What is included in the monthly plan?

The plan covers 1 billing organization with up to 1,000 active subscriptions. Within that, we handle plan and price book changes, subscription lifecycle work, invoice and tax configuration, gateway monitoring, dunning and recovery workflows, customer portal setup, integration health, and revenue reporting. Larger pieces of work such as migrating from another billing platform or rebuilding your entire pricing model are scoped and quoted as separate projects.

Do I still need my own Zoho Billing license?

Yes. You keep your own Zoho Billing subscription and own the account, the customer records, and every plan and invoice inside it. We work in your environment as an administrator. That matters if you ever change providers, because nothing sits behind our accounts and there is no data to negotiate for. We will also advise on which plan tier fits your subscription volume.
