Retool alternative
A Managed Alternative To Retool
Zoho Creator can run the process your business has been holding together in a spreadsheet, once someone builds the forms, writes the logic, and connects it to the systems you already use. That part is a job. Our managed Zoho Creator plan handles it on a flat monthly rate: apps built around how your team actually works, Deluge scripting where the point and click stops, reports your managers will open, and changes made when you ask rather than when a quote comes back.
With Cascadia you get
- Built around your real process
- Deluge where the clicks run out
- Tested before your team sees it
- Field work treated as first class
- Your account, your apps
- Licensing watched before it bites
The short version
What you get here instead of Retool
Custom apps rot in a fairly predictable order. First somebody adds a field in a hurry. Then a workflow stops firing and nobody notices, because it failed silently.
What you get here
- Forms, Subforms & Field Logic
- Data Model & Relationship Mapping
- Page Layouts & Navigation Design
- Workflow Rules & Business Logic
- Deluge Scripting & Custom Functions

Where we go further
The appeal of a low code platform is that anybody can change the app. That is also the problem.
Your account, your apps
If you ever change providers, the apps, the data, the scripts, and the reports stay exactly where they are. Nothing sits in an agency account, so there is no export to negotiate and no leverage held over you.
Licensing watched before it bites
We track your usage against them and flag a plan change with the numbers attached before anything stops working. You stay ahead of the cost rather than reacting to it.
Built around your real process
We start by watching how the work happens today, including the steps people invented because the software would not let them do it properly. The app gets built around that reality instead of a tidy version of it. An app that argues with how your team works gets abandoned inside a quarter, no matter how well it was built.
Deluge where the clicks run out
Low code covers a great deal, and then your requirement lands just past the edge of it. That is where Deluge comes in: calculated fields, cross app logic, custom functions, and the awkward rule that no drag and drop builder anticipated.
Who this comparison is for
Field and site crews capturing data on phones
Inspections, job sheets, deliveries, and site checks still get written on paper and typed up later, which is where the errors and the delays come from.
Zoho One customers not using Creator yet
Meanwhile the gaps between their Zoho apps get filled with spreadsheets. We build those gaps into proper apps using licensing you already own, which is usually the cheapest improvement available to you.
Teams running the business on spreadsheets
A workbook grows tabs, formulas, and one person who knows how it works. Then two people edit it at once and a week of records goes missing.
How our managed Zoho Creator service works
Whether you are starting from a blank page or inheriting an app somebody else abandoned, the sequence is the same. We work out how the process runs today, build the app and the logic around it, then connect the systems either side.
- 1
We assess your current setup
First we look at how things run today: what you already pay for, what is configured where, and which parts are actually causing you trouble.
- 2
We map the process you want to run
We start with a consultation about what the process does, who touches it, and where it currently breaks. Then we design the data model: what a record is, how records relate, and what each one has to carry.
- 3
We build the app, the logic, and the reports
We build the forms, pages, and navigation, then layer in the workflow rules and the Deluge that makes them behave properly.
- 4
We connect, roll out, and maintain
We connect CRM and the rest of your stack, migrate your existing data, then keep it running from there.
How Retool works
What Retool does, in their own words
Retool is a platform for building internal tools, priced by who uses it. The figures below were read in September 2026 and vary between sources.

Retool alternative questions
Straight answers about switching, pricing, and what moves with you.
See Managed Zoho CreatorWhy would I switch from Retool to Cascadia?
One reason is that everything we build stays in your own Zoho Creator account. If you ever change providers, the apps, the data, the scripts, and the reports stay exactly where they are. Nothing sits in an agency account, so there is no export to negotiate and no leverage held over you.
Can you take over an app somebody else built?
Yes, and we do it often. We audit what exists first: the data model, the scripts, the workflows, and where the shortcuts were taken. Then we tell you honestly which parts are worth keeping and which should be rebuilt. Most inherited apps are fixable. Rebuilding everything is usually easier for the provider and more expensive for you, so we do not quote it by default.
How long does a Creator app take to build?
A focused single process app usually takes two to four weeks from the first conversation to your team using it. Something spanning several departments with portals and integrations runs longer, typically six to ten weeks. We build in stages and put the first working version in front of you early, because people describe what they need far better once they can click on something.
Can Creator apps work on phones and in the field?
Yes. Creator apps run on iOS and Android without a separate build, and we configure the mobile layouts so a form is usable on a phone rather than a shrunk desktop screen. Offline capture works where crews have no signal, with records syncing when they reconnect. Barcode scanning, GPS stamps, and photo capture are all available for site and inspection work.
Can customers or suppliers get access without a full license?
Yes, through portals. A portal user sees only their own records, so a client can submit a request and track its progress, or a supplier can update a job, without seeing anyone else’s data and without a full Creator license. Portal access is priced separately by Zoho on a user or volume basis. We set up the permissions and the interface they land on.
Will Creator connect to our accounting or other outside software?
Usually yes. The Zoho apps connect natively, so CRM, Books, Desk, Inventory, and the rest link with little friction. Outside Zoho we use the REST API, webhooks, and middleware, which covers most accounting packages, payment processors, and industry specific tools. If a system has no API at all, we will tell you that early rather than after you have paid for an attempt.
What is Deluge and will we be stuck with it?
Deluge is the scripting language inside Creator, used when the point and click actions cannot do what you need. We write it where it is warranted, and we document what each function does and why. The scripts live inside your own Creator account, so if you ever change providers the next developer reads working, commented code rather than reverse engineering a black box.
Who owns the app and the data?
You do. Everything we build lives inside your own Zoho Creator subscription under your ownership. The apps, the data, the scripts, and the reports stay exactly where they are if you ever change providers. Nothing sits in an agency account, so there is no export to negotiate and no leverage held over you. We think that is the only honest way to run this.
How is this different from hiring a Creator developer hourly?
An hourly developer finishes the build and moves on. Every later change means a fresh quote and a wait, which quietly trains your team to stop asking, and the app slowly drifts from how the business actually works. A subscription puts changes inside the service, so requests get made and the app keeps up. It also puts the incentive on us to keep it running well.
What happens when we outgrow the app or need a second one?
Growth is normal and we plan for it. The plan covers three apps, so a second and third process can move onto Creator without a new agreement. When record volumes or user counts approach a tier limit, we flag it and price the options before a cap interrupts anyone. If a process genuinely belongs in a different Zoho app, we will say so rather than forcing it into Creator.
Should we get the Zoho One bundle instead?
If Creator is the only Zoho app you run, the standalone plan is the right fit. Once you are managing three or more apps, our Zoho One bundle covers all of them for less than the separate plans stacked together, and Creator is included in the Zoho One license itself. We look at what you actually run and tell you which side of that line you are on.
