A Freshdesk Alternative For The Team Where Nobody Actually Owns The Queue

Freshdesk is free for two people and bundles five hundred Freddy AI sessions a month into every plan, which is more than most vendors give away. Past two people it charges per agent, and past five hundred sessions it charges for the AI as well. Managed Zoho Desk is seven hundred a month, and what that buys is not seats.

With Cascadia you get

  • We tune the automation
  • SLAs that mean something
  • We read the ticket data
  • Built around your actual queue
  • Your account, your configuration
  • Context from the rest of Zoho

The short version

Why teams pick Cascadia over Freshdesk

We are for the case where the problem is that nobody owns the queue, not the price of the software holding the tickets.

What you get here

  • Every channel your customers already use arriving in one queue in the first fortnight
  • SLA and escalation rules written around what your business actually promises
  • Somebody watching the queue and the breach reports whether or not you remember to
  • A help center with articles in it rather than an empty shell nobody got round to
  • A named person who already knows your ticket flow when a Monday goes badly
  • Automations written once for the tickets that repeat, not triaged one at a time
  • One monthly figure, with no agent count and no per session charge inside it
  • The wiring into your CRM, billing and project tools done as part of the service

What ships in the standard plan here

A capable ticketing tool that is free for two people, with a seat price for the third and a session price for the AI answering on their behalf.

  • A desk somebody else can pick up next quarter without reverse engineering it first

Where a seat count stops describing the work

Zoho Desk set up around how support actually reaches you, with the channels, the SLA rules, the automations and the help center all ours, at one flat figure.

One tier, so there is no plan above this one to be sold to you later

Seven hundred a month is the whole of it. There is nothing above it we can move you onto, no Copilot seat to add and no session allowance to top up.

The people who set up your desk are the people who answer about it later

You are not routed to a support queue that has never seen your own ticket flow, and there is no premium support tier to buy for the privilege.

One suite, when the customer record and the ticket already live together

Zoho Desk sits alongside CRM, Books, Projects and the rest of the suite, so the customer raising the ticket and the customer on the invoice are one record rather than two systems reconciled by hand.

Who this comparison is for

For two people answering everything that comes in, the free Freshdesk plan is the right answer

Freshdesk runs a free program for up to two users, and it is a working help desk rather than a fortnight with a countdown on it.

Growth is nineteen an agent, Pro is fifty five and Enterprise is eighty nine

Those are per agent figures on the annual commitment, so the bill moves every time somebody joins the support rota.

Five hundred Freddy sessions are included, and the next hundred cost forty nine dollars

Every plan carries five hundred Freddy AI Agent sessions a month, which is genuinely generous at the free end of the range.

How switching works

  1. 1

Nothing gets configured until we have followed a real week of tickets

We sit with whoever answers the email and whoever picks up the phone, and we write down what actually happens rather than what the process document says happens.

  2. 2

Open tickets and history move across before anybody answers a new one

Open tickets, closed history, contacts and whatever knowledge base articles already exist.

  3. 3

The SLA and escalation rules get written for your business rather than left at default

A default SLA produces breach reports nobody reads. We write rules that match what you actually promise customers, so a breach means something went wrong rather than that a timer expired.

  4. 4

You run a full month in it, including a real busy week and a real set of reports

The first month of live use runs with us alongside it. Whatever routes badly in the first busy week gets fixed while everybody still remembers the ticket that caused it.

See Managed Zoho Desk
What is a Freshdesk alternative?

Anything that takes the tickets and gets them answered without being Freshdesk. On this hub that means Zendesk, Intercom, Help Scout and Zoho Desk. The useful question is not which product has the longer feature grid, because at this end of the market they will all hold a ticket. It is who is watching the queue, and what the bill does when the team grows.

How is Cascadia different from Freshdesk?

Freshdesk sells software priced by the agent. We sell the work. The seven hundred covers the ticket channels, the SLA and escalation rules, the automation, the help center and knowledge base content, the reporting and the integrations with the rest of your Zoho apps, and the people who built it are the people who answer when you call.

Is Freshdesk cheaper than this?

For a small team, yes, and there is no version of this page where that changes. Two agents cost nothing at all, and a third costs nineteen dollars a month on Growth. What you are weighing is not two prices. It is whether somebody is going to run the desk, and whether that somebody is already on your payroll.

What is not included in the seven hundred?

Your Zoho licenses, which Zoho bills to you directly at their published rates, and your own team answering their own customers. We build and run the desk they answer in. Everything involved in making it work and keeping it working is inside the figure.

Why not just use Freshdesk and run it ourselves?

If two people cover everything that arrives and one of them enjoys configuring the thing, do exactly that. The free program is genuinely free and it is a good product for that case. The reason people stop is not that Freshdesk failed them. It is that whoever maintained the routing and the canned replies got busy with their actual job somewhere around month five.

Should we buy this at all?

Often not, and finding that out now is far cheaper than finding it out in month four. If two people handle the queue between them and neither of them is drowning, seven hundred a month of managed desk is a solution looking for a problem. We would rather say so on the first call.

Do we have to migrate everything at once?

No. Open tickets and active contacts move first, because those are what customers are actually waiting on. Closed history and the knowledge base follow once the live queue is running. Splitting it that way means nobody waits on a full migration before they can answer an email.

Does anything break while you take over?

Nobody stops answering and nothing goes dark. Your existing Freshdesk account stays exactly where it is until the new desk has run a full month and the reporting agrees. Cutting over is a decision you make once you have watched it work, not a date we impose on you.

What if we already run Freshdesk and want to move?

It is a common route here and the export itself is straightforward. Where it gets fiddly is deciding which of the existing automations and canned replies deserve to come across, because a desk that grew one rule at a time usually carries a few nobody can explain. We work that out before anybody signs anything.

Do you own the system or the data?

No to both, and the arrangement is deliberately dull. The Zoho account is in your name, the tickets are yours, and if you stop working with us you keep every record and carry on. Nothing about leaving is designed to be awkward.

What exactly is included?

One flat figure with nothing metered behind it. Seven hundred a month covers the ticket channels, the SLA and escalation rules, the automation, the help center and knowledge base content, the reporting, and the integrations with the rest of your Zoho apps.

Do you guarantee the implementation will go to plan?

No, and be wary of anybody who does. A migration meets routing rules nobody has looked at properly in years, and a first busy week usually turns up two things the business had never noticed. What we will commit to is that those surprises are ours to absorb rather than yours to be invoiced for.

What does the monthly report actually contain?

How many tickets came in, how fast they were answered and closed, what breached and why, and which topics keep coming back, alongside anything we changed in the desk and anything odd enough to be worth mentioning. It is a page rather than a deck, and it is written so somebody who never opens the help desk can still tell how support is doing.

How long before we see a difference?

Four to eight weeks to a desk that is running properly in most cases, and longer where several channels and a large ticket history have to move first. The honest variable is not our speed, it is how quickly somebody can answer why a routing rule was written that way three years ago.

What if we want to leave?

Thirty days’ notice ends it and nothing is stranded. The Zoho account stays in your name, the desk stays configured exactly as it is, and the documentation comes with you. There is no exit fee and no data to pry out of us, because it was never ours to hold.
