A Domo Alternative for Companies That Want the Price in Writing

Domo will not publish a price at all. The pricing page carries a free trial and a Contact Sales button, and the model underneath is consumption credits that you spend by storing data, refreshing tables and running workflows. We charge five hundred dollars a month for the whole organization and run Zoho Analytics inside it.

With Cascadia you get

  • Someone watching your syncs
  • One definition per metric
  • SQL where the builder stops
  • Built around the decision
  • Your account, your data
  • Usage watched before billing bites

The short version

Why teams pick Cascadia over Domo

We are here for the company that bought a capable analytics platform, connected three data sources in a fortnight, and then discovered that nobody owns the question of what to measure.

What you get here

  • A monthly figure printed on this page, not quoted after a discovery call
  • One purchase covering the platform work and the building of it, rather than a meter
  • The data model is decided for your business by somebody who has met your team
  • The fee attaches to the organization, so a heavy month of refreshes does not change the invoice
  • The person who designed the reporting model is the person who maintains it afterward
  • A failed refresh is caught on a schedule, before anybody presents from a stale number
  • Measure definitions agreed in advance, and written down somewhere you can find them
  • The report sits in the same estate as the customer record it draws from

What ships in the standard plan here

A platform your people will like, a price you have to ask for, and a blank workspace that becomes somebody’s Friday afternoon.

  • Measure definitions agreed in advance, and written down somewhere you can find them
  • The report sits in the same estate as the customer record it draws from
  • A straight recommendation to buy elsewhere when you already employ an analyst
  • Sharing, permissions and scheduled delivery configured on your behalf, then reviewed each quarter

Where the platform stops and the building begins

One published number, one named person, and a data model that gets revisited every time the business changes shape.

One organization fee, published, and it does not move when your data grows

Workspace setup and user provisioning, migration off whatever you use now, the data model, the dashboard build, the refresh schedules and the watching of them, a quarterly review of what anybody still opens, and the license staying in your own name.

Their bill may well be lower than ours, and we cannot tell you when

Domo bills on consumption credits. We bill a flat fee per organization. There is certainly a level of usage where their bill sits below ours, and for a light workload it probably does.

The decision and the person who made it stay in one place

The same named person who worked out how a measure is defined, and which source wins when two disagree, is the person who answers when the question changes eight months later.

The report lands where the records already live

Zoho Analytics sits in the same estate as CRM, Desk, Projects and Books. The dashboard and the records it draws from are in one place under one administration.

Who this comparison is for

The meter runs on activity, not on people

Domo describes credits as being consumed when you store data, update tables, run workflows or use capabilities such as machine learning inference in the pipeline.

There is no number on the page at all, only a form

The pricing page offers a thirty day free trial and a tier headed Custom Pricing, with Contact Sales underneath it. There is no starting figure, no per credit rate and no worked example.

The trial is generous, and a trial is not a dashboard

Thirty days, the full platform, unlimited users, onboarding support and a training session, with no credit card required. That is more than most vendors on this hub offer.

How switching works

  1. 1

Nothing gets built until we have seen how your team actually reaches a decision

We start with what is really happening. The Monday spreadsheet, the figure somebody quotes from memory, the report one person stopped trusting in twenty twenty four.

  2. 2

Every data source, every manual export, and the reports nobody will admit to ignoring

We count them. The ones in daily use, the ones built for a project that finished, the exports somebody rebuilds by hand every week, and the dashboards nobody has opened since the quarter they were made.

  3. 3

The measures, the source of truth and the refresh schedule are agreed and written down

How each measure is defined, which source wins when two disagree, who may see what, and how often everything refreshes.

  4. 4

You run a real month on it, including at least one genuine month end close

The first month runs with us alongside it.

See Managed Zoho Analytics
How does Domo compare to the other platforms on this hub?

Domo has the most generous licensing of the four and is the only one that publishes no price at all. Power BI lists fourteen dollars a user a month on Pro, Tableau lists fifteen on an annual contract, and Qlik lists four capacity tiers from three hundred a month. Domo shows a Contact Sales button and a credit model with no rate attached to it.

Is Domo billed on users or on usage?

On usage, entirely. Users are unlimited and free at any headcount, which is the single best licensing term on this hub. What you pay for is credits, which Domo describes as being consumed when you store data, update tables, run workflows or use capabilities such as machine learning inference in the pipeline. Your bill therefore tracks how hard your pipelines work rather than how many people log in.

Which Domo capabilities are genuinely ahead of Zoho Analytics?

Unlimited users at no charge, the whole platform available from day one, a low code app studio and a pro code framework, machine learning in the data pipeline, and embedded analytics built for putting dashboards inside your own product. Zoho Analytics does not reach that. On platform scope alone this is not a close comparison.

What is not on any vendor’s feature list?

Who decides which four numbers the leadership meeting needs. Who notices that a dashboard built last spring is drawing from a source that was decommissioned in June. Who rebuilds the report when the business changes shape on a Friday afternoon. Every vendor on this hub sells you the ability to do those things. None of them does them.

We already pay for Domo. Why would we pay you five hundred as well?

Often you should not, and we say so on the first call more than we would like to. If somebody in your business owns the data model, builds against it and watches the refreshes, you already have what we sell. The five hundred is for businesses where that person does not exist and everybody has quietly assumed somebody else is doing it.

At what point does Domo become more expensive than you?

There will be a crossover, because they bill on consumption and we bill a flat organization fee. We cannot calculate where it falls, because Domo publishes no credit rate, and consumption pricing means the answer moves with your usage rather than sitting still. Get their quote, hold it against five hundred, and ask what happens in a heavy quarter. If they come in lower and you have an analyst, buy Domo.

Does Domo support partners and resellers?

Yes. They run channel, technology, app solution and data partner tracks with a public partner showcase. Every vendor on this hub runs something similar, which is itself worth noticing. The whole industry assumes somebody other than the vendor will do the building.

What does the Domo free trial include?

Thirty days, the full platform, unlimited users, onboarding support, self service education and one training session, with no credit card required. That is more generous than most vendors on this hub, and it is worth stating plainly because comparison pages usually pretend otherwise.

Is Domo a better platform than Zoho Analytics?

Taken on its own, as an analytics platform and nothing else, yes, and the licensing is better too. We have not found a serious argument to the contrary and we are not going to build one. Zoho Analytics gets chosen for where it sits rather than for what it does, which is the next question.

Does Zoho Analytics connect to the rest of Zoho?

That is the reason to choose it. Analytics sits alongside CRM, Desk, Projects and Books under one administration, so a dashboard and the records it draws from live in the same estate with no export in between. If you are not running Zoho, this argument does not apply to you and Domo is the better buy.

What exactly do you do for five hundred a month?

We set up the workspace and provision your users, migrate you off whatever you use now, design the data model and the measure definitions, build the dashboards, set and watch the refresh schedules, configure sharing and scheduled delivery, and review what anybody still opens every quarter. One figure for the organization, month to month.

Who holds the Zoho Analytics license, you or us?

You do, and that is deliberate. The Analytics subscription is bought in your name and billed to you by Zoho. If you stop working with us you keep the workspace, the data model and every dashboard in it. Assist is the only service where we carry the license ourselves.

Can you move us off Domo?

Yes. Moving the connections and rebuilding the dashboards is straightforward enough. The rebuild is not the work. Deciding what the measures should be on the other side is the work, rather than recreating the same undocumented sprawl in a new tool and calling it a migration.

Is there a minimum term?

No. Five hundred a month, month to month, thirty days’ notice. No setup fee and no annual prepayment. If the first sixty days have not convinced you, leaving costs you one month.

What happens if we outgrow Zoho?

Some businesses do. Once the reporting question is manufacturing throughput, stock across several locations, or a chart of accounts that has stopped fitting, the answer stops being Zoho. We would rather say that early than sell you a system you will have to leave in two years.
