IBM Cognos alternative
What You Get Instead Of Running IBM Cognos Yourself
Zoho Analytics can answer almost any question about your business, once someone connects the data, builds the reports, and keeps the syncs running. That part is a job. We handle it on a flat monthly plan: dashboards designed around the decisions you actually make, data sources connected and monitored, reports delivered on schedule, and sync failures fixed before you notice them. You get reporting you can trust, without hiring an analyst to babysit it.
With Cascadia you get
- Someone watching your syncs
- One definition per metric
- SQL where the builder stops
- Built around the decision
- Your account, your data
- Usage watched before billing bites
The short version
The short case for Cascadia over IBM Cognos
Two reports disagreeing about revenue is not a software problem. It is two people having defined revenue differently, eighteen months apart, with nobody writing either definition down.

What the managed part actually means
A dashboard people trust gets opened. One they do not gets replaced by a spreadsheet.
Someone watching your syncs
A broken connection does not announce itself. It just stops updating, and the dashboard keeps showing last week’s numbers as if nothing happened.
One definition per metric
Most reporting arguments are really definition arguments. Sales counts revenue at close, finance counts it at invoice, and each side is certain the other is wrong.
SQL where the builder stops
The valuable ones tend to need multi-step logic, custom calculations, or aggregation the visual tools cannot express.
Built around the decision
A dashboard carrying every available chart is a report nobody opens. We start from the decision you are trying to make, build only what informs it, and lay it out so the number that matters reads first. Supporting detail stays one click away rather than competing for attention.
Who this comparison is for
Agencies reporting results to clients
We build repeatable dashboards and scheduled deliveries you can point clients at directly, so reporting stops being a monthly scramble and starts looking like part of your service.
Teams running several Zoho apps at once
When CRM holds the pipeline, Books holds the invoices, and Desk holds the tickets, no single app can tell you how the business is doing.
Businesses still reporting from spreadsheets
Manual exports are slow, easy to get wrong, and out of date the moment they are sent.
How our managed Zoho Analytics service works
Whether you are starting from an empty workspace or inheriting one somebody else built, the sequence is the same. We work out what you need to measure, get the data connected and verified, then build the reporting and keep it running afterward.
- 1
We assess your current setup
First we look at how things run today: what you already pay for, what is configured where, and which parts are actually causing you trouble.
- 2
We scope what you need to measure
If a number you want is not being captured anywhere yet, this is where you find out, rather than three dashboards later.
- 3
We connect and verify your data
Reporting that starts from unverified data produces confident answers that happen to be wrong, which is worse than having no dashboard at all.
- 4
We build, deliver, and keep it running
From there it stays managed. Syncs get monitored, failures get fixed, definitions get updated as the business shifts, and new reports get built as questions arrive.

IBM Cognos alternative questions
Straight answers about switching, pricing, and what moves with you.
See Managed Zoho AnalyticsHow is Cascadia different from IBM Cognos?
The main difference is that someone watches your data syncs. A broken connection does not announce itself. It just stops updating, and the dashboard keeps showing last week’s numbers as if nothing happened.
What is managed Zoho Analytics?
Managed Zoho Analytics is an ongoing subscription where we run your Zoho Analytics environment for you. That covers connecting and monitoring your data sources, building and maintaining dashboards and reports, managing users and permissions, and fixing sync failures when they happen. Instead of hiring a consultant every time reporting breaks or a new question comes up, you have a team already inside your setup handling it month to month.
What is included in the monthly plan?
The plan covers management of up to 5 connected data sources and 10 maintained dashboards. Within that, we handle sync monitoring and remediation, report and dashboard updates, user and permission administration, scheduled report delivery, performance tuning, and consultation on what to measure. Larger pieces of work such as a full reporting rebuild or a migration from another platform are scoped and quoted as separate projects.
Do I still need my own Zoho Analytics license?
Yes. You keep your own Zoho Analytics subscription and own the account, the data, and everything built inside it. We work inside your environment as an administrator. That matters if you ever change providers, because nothing is locked behind our accounts and there is no export process to negotiate. We will also advise on which plan tier fits your row count and user numbers.
Which data sources can you connect?
Zoho Analytics connects natively to the Zoho apps including CRM, Books, Desk, Projects, and Campaigns, plus common outside systems such as Google Analytics, QuickBooks, Salesforce, and Shopify. It also reads from SQL databases, cloud storage, and uploaded files. If a system has an API but no prebuilt connector, we can usually still get the data in on a schedule.
What happens when a data sync fails?
We monitor sync status and act on failures rather than waiting for you to notice a stale dashboard. Most breaks come from expired credentials, permission changes in the source system, or an API update on the vendor side. We reconnect, backfill anything missed, and confirm the numbers reconcile. If the cause sits somewhere we cannot reach, such as a locked account, we tell you exactly what needs changing.
Can you build dashboards from scratch?
Yes, and that is usually where we start. We talk through the decisions you are trying to make, check whether your data actually supports answering them, then build the reports and lay them out so the important numbers read first. Initial builds within your dashboard allowance are part of the subscription. A large first-time reporting buildout for a complex organization may be quoted as a project.
How is this different from hiring a Zoho consultant hourly?
An hourly consultant is a good fit for a defined project with a start and an end. Reporting is not that. Data sources break, definitions change, and new questions arrive constantly, and each one becomes a small negotiation when you are billing by the hour. A subscription removes that friction: the monitoring is continuous, the small fixes do not need a quote, and we retain context about your setup between requests.
What if I need more than 10 dashboards or 5 data sources?
Tell us and we will look at whether the extra items are genuinely needed or whether existing reports can be consolidated. Plenty of workspaces carry duplicate dashboards nobody opens. If the additional scope is real, we will quote either a higher tier or a scoped project for the buildout. We would rather have that conversation than quietly let service quality slip.
Do you work with Zoho Analytics inside Zoho One?
Yes. Zoho Analytics is included in Zoho One, and many of our clients reach it that way. The management work is the same either way. If you run several Zoho applications, our Zoho One bundle covers the whole ecosystem rather than one app at a time, which usually works out better once you are managing more than a couple of apps.
Can you connect Zoho Analytics to systems outside Zoho?
Yes, and most useful reporting depends on it. Revenue in one system and marketing spend in another only becomes a meaningful number when they sit on the same chart. We connect outside platforms through the native connectors where they exist, and through APIs, database connections, or scheduled file imports where they do not.
