ServiceTitan alternative

A ServiceTitan Alternative for Contractors Who Cannot Get a Price Without a Sales Call

ServiceTitan meters by technician and publishes no figure for any of its three packages. You fill in a form, answer questions about your crew, and wait for a number. Managed Zoho FSM is seven hundred dollars a month for the organization, and that is the whole of it.

With Cascadia you get

  • We build the work orders
  • The dispatch board fits your day
  • Technicians get a short list
  • Jobs turn into invoices
  • Your account, your data
  • Integrations get monitored

The short version

Why teams pick Cascadia over ServiceTitan

We exist for the contractor who has been quoted a number they have no way to sanity check, who has technician logins nobody can account for, and who has nobody in the building whose job is to own the configuration.

What you get here

  • Service types, checklists and dispatch rules designed around the jobs you actually sell
  • A monthly figure you can read on this page before you speak to anybody
  • A standing count of which technician logins are still being used by people who still work here
  • One figure whatever the truck count does, with no per technician rate underneath it
  • The person who built your dispatch board is the one who answers about it a year later
  • A price book rebuilt against what your own materials and labor cost this year
  • A written rule for how long job photos, signed reports and customer records are kept
  • Mobile estimating, payroll and reporting arriving together rather than one package at a time

What ships in the standard plan here

  • A named owner for the configuration who is not also out running your jobs

Where the platform stops and somebody has to decide things

A number at the top of the page, and somebody who can tell you what each technician login is doing.

One figure for the organization, and it is on this page

Service types and the catalog, the price book, the dispatch board and the scheduling rules, technician provisioning and permissions, the estimate and invoice flow, the customer portal, and the wiring into CRM and Books.

The technician is not the meter, so the tenth truck is free

We cannot do the crossover arithmetic here the way we do it against the platforms that publish, because ServiceTitan does not publish. What can be said is the shape.

A named person who does not stop being yours after go live

ServiceTitan runs a real onboarding program and it is one of the better ones in this category. Onboarding, by definition, ends. The configuration questions do not.

FSM sits inside the business system rather than beside it

Zoho FSM writes into CRM and Books. The estimate raised against a customer, the appointment that follows it, the parts consumed on the job and the invoice that closes it all land against the record your office already had open.

Who this comparison is for

The meter is the technician, and they say so in one line

Their pricing page opens by describing the model as per technician pricing designed to fit your business at any size. That is the whole of the disclosure.

Mobile estimates are not in the entry package

Starter carries dispatching, scheduling, call booking, invoicing and the price book. Mobile estimates arrive at Essentials, alongside payroll management.

The form decides whether they want you as a customer

To get a number you answer their questions first: your trade, how many technicians you run, residential or commercial, service or construction, and whether you employ at least one full time office person.

How switching works

  1. 1

We count the technician logins and ask what each one is for

When the meter is the technician, this is the fastest money on the list. We go through the account with whoever runs the office and ask, of each login, what that person does with it.

  2. 2

We build the work orders around the jobs you actually sell

Service types, checklists, the price book, and what a technician has to capture before a job may close. Software arrives carrying a generic idea of what a job is.

  3. 3

Permissions, portal access and retention are decided once and written down

Which technicians see pricing, whether a customer may move their own appointment, where job photos and signed reports land, and how long any of it is kept.

  4. 4

Real jobs run on it while somebody is still watching

The first month of live work runs with us alongside it. Whatever misbehaves gets fixed while attention is still on it, rather than hardening into a workaround that outlives whoever invented it.

See Managed Zoho FSM
How does ServiceTitan compare to the other platforms on this hub?

It sits above them. Jobber and Housecall Pro compete hardest with each other for the smaller contractor, and both print their prices. ServiceTitan is aimed at the larger residential and commercial trade business, carries the deepest feature set of the three, and publishes no figure at all. If you are choosing on what you can find out before a sales call, that ordering is exactly reversed.

What is actually in each ServiceTitan package?

From their own page. Starter holds dispatching, scheduling, call booking, invoicing and the price book. Essentials adds mobile estimates and payroll management. The Works adds configurable payroll, advanced reporting, commission tracking and customizable memberships. Their Pro products, including marketing, dispatch, pricebook and the virtual agent, sit above all three as separate purchases.

What does no package of any kind cover?

Whether every technician login on your account belongs to somebody who still works for you. Whether your price book reflects what materials and labor cost this year rather than the year it was loaded. Whether the jobs you win most easily are the ones you make least money on. No tier contains any of that, in any product, at any price. It is work, and somebody has to do it.

We are already looking at ServiceTitan. Why would we pay you seven hundred a month?

Frequently you should not, and we say so on the call. If you already run a dispatcher and an office manager who owns the software, you are paying for this and paying twice would be daft. Where it is the owner doing it at nine at night between jobs, that is the situation this exists for.

At what point do you become cheaper than ServiceTitan?

We cannot tell you, and it would be dishonest to pretend otherwise. Against Jobber and Housecall Pro the crossover can be worked out in public because both print their seat rates. ServiceTitan prints nothing, so the only person who can do that sum is you, once you have their number in front of you. What can be said is that ours does not move with your technician count and theirs does.

Is there a crew size where ServiceTitan stops making sense?

Not on size. If anything it makes more sense the bigger you get, which is the opposite of the usual pattern in this category. The question that decides it is not how many trucks you run, it is whether anybody in the building owns the configuration. A large contractor with a full office is the ServiceTitan customer. A large contractor whose owner is still the administrator is ours.

Is ServiceTitan a better product than Zoho FSM?

As field service software bought and used on its own, for a trade business of any size, very probably yes, and pretending otherwise would be silly. It is deeper, it is purpose built, and it has a hundred thousand contractors behind it. Zoho FSM is a component of a business system rather than a product built for the trades, and it gets chosen for what sits around it rather than for the field module in isolation.

Does Zoho FSM connect to the rest of Zoho?

That is the main reason to pick it. FSM writes into CRM and Books, so an estimate raised against a customer, the appointment that follows it, the parts used and the invoice that closes it all sit against one record. ServiceTitan integrates with accounting systems, and an integration is a real and workable thing. It is still two records kept in agreement rather than one record.

What exactly do you do for seven hundred a month?

We design the service types and the catalog, build the price book against what your work actually costs, set up the dispatch board and the scheduling rules, provision technicians and set their permissions, configure the estimate and invoice flow and the customer portal, wire FSM into CRM and Books, and then keep revising all of it as the business changes. Month to month, and the license stays yours.

Who holds the Zoho FSM license, you or us?

You do, deliberately. The subscription is bought in your name and stays there. If you stop working with us you keep the account, the customer records, every work order and every invoice, and nothing needs exporting anywhere. We built it and we run it. We do not own it.

Can you move us off ServiceTitan?

Yes, and one step usually surprises people. Customers, job history and invoices move without much drama. The price book does not, because carrying it across exactly reproduces whatever drift it has picked up since the day it was loaded. We rebuild it against what the work costs now, which is the slow part and the part worth paying for.

Is there a minimum term?

No. Seven hundred a month, month to month, thirty days’ notice, no setup fee and no annual prepayment. We publish that here for the same reason we think any software vendor should. A price you have to ask for is a price you cannot compare.

We run eight technicians. Is ServiceTitan overkill?

Possibly, and it is a fair thing to put to them directly. At eight technicians the platforms that print their prices are worth pricing first, because you can do that this afternoon without speaking to anybody. What ServiceTitan buys at that size is depth you may not need for another two years. What we buy at that size is somebody to own the setup, which most eight technician shops do not have.

What happens if we outgrow Zoho?

It happens and it is not a failure. Once you are holding stock across a yard and several vans, buying materials against purchase orders, invoicing jobs in stages, or paying subcontractors on the same work you are billing a customer for, no field service tool is the right shape any more.

Want a number you can read without giving anybody your phone number?

Seven hundred a month for the organization covers the read of what you actually run, the work order and price book rebuild, the permissions and portal configuration, the migration off whatever you are on now, and the revisions after it.
