A Workable Alternative Priced On Hiring, Not Headcount

Workable is the one applicant tracker on this hub that prints its prices, and they start at two hundred and ninety nine a month, which is well under half of ours. What that figure is measured against is your employee headcount, across nine bands, so the bill climbs when you hire people who will never open it. Managed Zoho Recruit is seven hundred a month at any size, and the person who configures the hiring process is already inside the figure.

With Cascadia you get

  • We configure your real process
  • Candidates who actually hear back
  • Job boards that stay current
  • Screening you can defend
  • Your account, your data
  • Connected to the rest of Zoho

The short version

Why teams pick Cascadia over Workable

We exist for the case where nobody has the hours to own how hiring works. Where somebody does, the cheaper tool wins, and that is the honest recommendation.

What you get here

  • Somebody sitting down with how you actually hire and turning it into stages, scorecards and templates before a requisition opens
  • The offer approvals, the candidate notifications and the scheduling rules configured to match how decisions really get made
  • The stages, the permissions and the automations revisited every month rather than left where the last person put them
  • Access configured so a hiring manager opens the tool and sees their own candidates and nothing else
  • The same named person each time, already holding the context when a role has to change today
  • One hiring process agreed across the departments rather than five that quietly diverged
  • One monthly figure that does not move when you pass twenty employees, or fifty, or two hundred
  • The links to your CRM, your onboarding and your employee records built rather than listed as available

What ships in the standard plan here

A capable hiring platform with three published tiers, priced on how many people you employ rather than on how much you hire, and the work of shaping it around your process left with whoever has the hours.

  • Reporting set up around the roles you are filling, not a report builder waiting for somebody to use it

Where the cheaper published price stops being the thing that decides it

Zoho Recruit built around the way you actually hire, with the pipelines, the screening, the career site and the offer flow ours to configure and ours to keep working, at one figure that does not move with your headcount.

One figure covering the setup, the tuning and every change that follows it

The pipelines and stages, the career site and the job board publishing, the screening rules, the offer approvals, the permissions, the reporting and the links to the rest of your Zoho apps all sit inside the same seven hundred.

One tier and no add ons, so nothing turns up on the invoice later

Seven hundred a month is the whole of it. There is no texting module to add, no video interview line, no assessments fee and no performance add on, because what you are buying is the work rather than the feature list.

The people who configured your hiring are the people who pick up the phone

You are not routed into a support queue that has never seen your hiring process, and there is no separate statement of work to sign before anybody will change a stage.

One suite, so the candidate record and the employee record are one record

Zoho Recruit sits alongside People, CRM, Books and the rest of the suite. The person you hire on Monday is already the employee record on Tuesday, with no integration to keep in step between them.

Who this comparison is for

The meter is employee headcount, not recruiters or open roles

Nine bands run from one to twenty employees up to a thousand and above, and the price on the page is the bottom one.

Standard prices four capabilities as monthly add ons

Texting is eighty nine dollars a month on top of Standard, video interviews a hundred and nine, assessments fifty nine, and performance and engagement thirty nine.

Asked who shapes the hiring process, the answer is still you

Workable ships custom hiring pipelines, interview kits, scorecards, offer letter templates, automated actions and custom user permissions on every plan, which is more generous than most of this market manages.

How switching works

  1. 1

Nothing is configured until we have followed one real hire from advert to offer

We sit with the hiring managers and with whoever reports on headcount afterward, and we write down what happens to a candidate in practice rather than what the hiring policy says happens.

  2. 2

Live roles and live candidates come across first, and get checked before anybody works in them

The open roles, the candidates already in play, the talent pool people actually return to and the notes behind them.

  3. 3

The pipelines and the offer approvals get built for you rather than left on defaults

A default pipeline produces a report nobody trusts.

  4. 4

You run a full month on it, with a real requisition and a real offer inside it

The first month of live hiring runs with us beside it. Whatever routes wrong on the first offer is fixed while everyone still remembers the candidate it happened to.

Workable alternative questions

Straight answers about switching, pricing, and what moves with you.

See Managed Zoho Recruit
What is a Workable alternative?

Anything that tracks applicants through a hiring process without being Workable. On this hub that means Greenhouse, Lever, iCIMS and Zoho Recruit. The useful question is not which platform has the longer feature list, because at this end of the market they will all move a candidate through stages and send a rejection. It is what the price is actually measuring, who configures the thing, and who still owns it a year later.

How is Cascadia different from Workable?

Workable sells software and prices it on how many people you employ. We sell an arrangement and price it at seven hundred a month whatever your headcount does. That figure covers the pipelines, the scorecards, the offer approvals, the permissions, the reporting and the integrations, and the people who configured it are the people who answer when you call. At a small headcount Workable is the cheaper line on the invoice, and we will say so on the call. It is also the one where the configuring stays with you.

Is Workable cheaper than this?

At the smallest headcount band, yes, and plainly. Standard is two hundred and ninety nine a month against our seven hundred. Whether it stays cheaper depends on how many people you end up employing, how many of the add ons you take, and whether anybody in the building has the hours to configure and maintain the thing. If the answer to the last of those is yes, buy Workable. We are not going to argue you out of a cheaper bill you can actually run.

What is not included in the seven hundred?

Your Zoho licenses, which Zoho bills to you directly at their published rates, and the work of deciding who you want to hire and what good looks like in the role, which stays with the people doing the hiring. Everything involved in turning those decisions into a working hiring process, and keeping it working as the company changes shape, sits inside the figure.

Why not just use Workable and configure it ourselves?

If your hiring is straightforward and somebody is willing to own it, do exactly that, and at two hundred and ninety nine a month you will be better off than you would be with us. Workable is well documented and a capable recruiter gets a long way inside it unaided. The reason people stop is rarely the software. It is that the person who configured it moved on, and nobody inherited it.

Should we buy this at all?

Often not, and finding that out now is far cheaper than finding it out in month four. If you hire two people a year and everybody already knows how it works, seven hundred a month of hiring management is a solution looking for a problem, and so is two hundred and ninety nine. We would rather say so on the first call than six months into it.

Do we have to migrate everything at once?

No. The open requisitions, the candidates in play and the reports built on them move first, because those are what the team works from daily. Closed roles and older applicants follow once the live process has settled. Splitting it that way means nobody waits on a full migration before they can get on with hiring.

Does anything break while you take over?

Nobody stops hiring and nothing goes dark. Your existing Workable pipelines stay exactly where they are until the new one has run a full month with nothing falling through it. Cutting over is a decision you make after watching it work, not a date we impose on you.

What if we already run Workable and want to move?

It is the most common route to this page, and the export itself is straightforward. Where it gets fiddly is deciding which of the existing stages, scorecards and custom fields are worth carrying over, because most companies accumulate a few nobody remembers creating. We work that out before anybody commits to anything, so the tidying up is known rather than discovered.

Do you own the system or the data?

No to both, and the arrangement is deliberately dull. The Zoho account is in your name. The hiring data, every candidate record in it and the documentation behind the configuration are yours. If you stop working with us you keep all of it and carry on, with no handover to negotiate first.

What exactly is included?

One flat figure with nothing metered behind it. Seven hundred a month covers the pipelines and stages, the career site and job board publishing, the screening and the scorecards, the offer approvals, the permissions, the reporting, and the integrations with the rest of your Zoho apps. No part of that is priced as a separate module.

Do you guarantee the implementation will go to plan?

No, and treat anybody who does with some suspicion. A migration runs into candidate records nobody has read properly in years, and a first month of live hiring reliably turns up an exception the business had never named. What we commit to is that those surprises are ours to absorb rather than yours to be invoiced for.

What does the monthly report actually contain?

Which roles moved, which candidates are stuck and at which stage, and what took longest, alongside anything we changed in the rules and anything odd enough to be worth flagging. It is a page rather than a deck, and it is written so somebody who never opens the system can still tell how the hiring is going.

How long before we see a difference?

Four to eight weeks to a full month running cleanly in most cases, and longer where years of ad hoc spreadsheets and stage names have to be reconciled first. The honest variable is not our speed. It is how quickly somebody can tell us what ought to happen to a candidate nobody has ever decided about.

What if we want to leave?

Thirty days’ notice ends it and nothing is stranded. The Zoho account stays in your name, the pipelines and the candidate records stay where they are, and the documentation goes with you. There is no exit fee, and nothing to pry out of us, because none of it was ever ours to hold.
