A Hootsuite Alternative for Teams Who Bought the Seats and Nobody Is Posting
Hootsuite Standard is ninety nine dollars a seat a month on annual billing and it stops at ten social accounts. What the seat does not include is the person who decides what you are posting about this quarter, writes it, and is still writing it in month nine once the launch everybody cared about is over. We do that part, for Zoho Social, at five hundred dollars a month for the whole organization.
With Cascadia you get
- Setup is included, not extra
- Your team trained, not locked out
- We manage your website as well
- Migrations that keep your queue
- Your accounts, your audience
- Connected to the rest of Zoho
The short version
Why teams pick Cascadia over Hootsuite
We exist for the company that bought three seats, scheduled a fortnight of posts in the first month, and has not opened the calendar since. The software is fine.
What you get here
- Somebody decides what the account is for before the first post gets written
- The posts written for your business, not simply a scheduler made available to fill
- A scheduled review of which channels still earn their slot, with the dead ones closed
- One figure for the organization, so connecting a twelfth profile does not change the invoice
- The person who wrote your first month of posts is still reachable a year later
- A post that reads badly caught before it goes out, not after somebody screenshots it
- Engagement and reply times watched on purpose, rather than noticed in a quarterly export
- The comment sits in the same estate as the CRM record and the ticket it turns into
What ships in the standard plan here
Three seats bought in week one, a fortnight of posts scheduled in week two, and an empty calendar from March onwards.
- The comment sits in the same estate as the CRM record and the ticket it turns into
- A straight no on the first call if you already employ somebody who posts for you
- Approvals, monitoring streams and reply alerts configured for you, not left as options
Where the seat ends and the posting starts
A posting plan written by somebody who knows what the business is selling this quarter, and rewritten when the quarter changes.
One figure for the whole organization, with no profile count underneath it
Channel connection and permissions, the content calendar and the publishing queue, approval workflows, monitoring and inbox triage, listening for your brand and your competitors, the reporting, and the wiring into CRM, Campaigns, Desk and Analytics.
Past about five people, their seats cost more than our fee
Standard is ninety nine dollars per user per month on annual billing. Five hundred divided by ninety nine lands a shade past five.
You are not re-explaining the business to a stranger every year
The same named person who worked out what your accounts are for and how the business should sound is the one you reach in month fourteen. No handover to a new account team, and no ticket queue in between.
The comment lands where the record already lives
Zoho Social writes into CRM, Campaigns, Desk and Analytics directly. The complaint posted in public and the ticket it becomes stop being two systems joined by somebody copying and pasting.
Who this comparison is for
The entry plan stops at ten social accounts
Standard connects up to ten profiles, and Hootsuite counts a profile as one account on one network.
Approvals and message routing sit on Advanced
Reviewing and approving content as a team, assigning and auto routing messages to the right person, and measuring team performance are what Hootsuite lists as the things Advanced adds over Professional, at three hundred and ninety nine dollars a user a month against one hundred and ninety nine.
Single sign on and the deeper listening mean a sales call
Advanced analytics, listening across social, digital and AI surfaces, single sign on and custom compliance are all Enterprise, which carries no published figure at all and starts with a demo request.
How switching works
- 1
Nothing gets posted until we know what the account is supposed to be for
A channel that cannot be tied to something the business actually wants is a channel worth closing. We sit with whoever asked for it and ask what would be different in a year if it worked.
- 2
We count the accounts already open, the ones nobody remembers, and who still holds the password
The main page everybody knows about, the regional account opened for a trade show two years ago, and the profile still signed in on a laptop belonging to somebody who left.
- 3
The subjects, the voice and the posting rhythm get written down
What each channel is for, how often it posts and in whose voice, what happens when somebody replies, and who is on the hook for answering.
- 4
You run a full month on it, straight through one real campaign and the replies it draws
The first month runs with us alongside it. Anything that reads wrong gets changed while we are still there, rather than hardening into a habit nobody questions for the next two years.

See Managed Zoho SocialHow does Hootsuite compare to Sprout Social, Buffer and Agorapulse?
Buffer is the cheapest by a distance and meters per channel rather than per person, at five dollars a channel a month on Essentials and ten on Team. Agorapulse runs from seventy nine a user a month on annual billing and holds every paid tier to ten social profiles. Sprout Social starts at seventy nine a seat on Essentials and reaches three hundred and ninety nine on Advanced. Hootsuite is ninety nine, one hundred and ninety nine and three hundred and ninety nine. All four will publish a post at the hour you asked for. None of them decides what the post should say.
Does every Hootsuite tier give you the whole dashboard?
Every plan carries the Wisdom AI assistant and the core suite, so the composer itself is not where the line falls. Hootsuite puts unlimited social accounts and workflow automation on Professional at one hundred and ninety nine a user a month, and approvals, message routing and team performance reporting on Advanced at three hundred and ninety nine. We will not go further than that, because the full feature matrix sits in a table we have not read line by line.
Which Hootsuite capabilities sit on the higher tiers?
Professional adds unlimited social accounts, automated inbox replies and workflows, trend forecasting up to ninety days ahead and custom performance reports. Advanced adds review and approval with your team, message assignment and auto routing, and team performance measurement. Enterprise adds advanced analytics, listening across social, digital and AI surfaces, single sign on and custom compliance. Enterprise is the only one of the four that carries no published price.
What is not on the tier list at all?
Whether anything you posted last month was worth posting. Whether the audience has heard the same line four times already. What your engagement should have been, and whether the number you got is a bad one. Who answers the comment that lands at nine on a Friday night, and what changes as a result. None of that is a feature you can buy on any tier of anything. It is a job somebody has to hold.
We already pay for Hootsuite. Why would I pay you five hundred a month on top?
Often you should not, and we say so regularly. If somebody in your building already fills the calendar, writes the posts and answers the replies, you would be paying us to duplicate work that is already getting done. Call us when that person leaves, or when nobody can name who it is.
At what point does Hootsuite stop being the cheaper answer?
On the seat arithmetic, at around five people. Standard at ninety nine dollars per user per month passes five hundred a shade after the fifth seat. Below that they cost less, and at one seat Hootsuite is ninety nine a month against our five hundred, which is five times cheaper and we are not going to dress that up. Worth saying separately that a single Advanced seat is three hundred and ninety nine, which lands within a hundred and one dollars of our figure. Keep in mind that the two numbers are not the same kind of thing. Theirs is software. Ours is somebody writing and answering, and you buy the Zoho Social license separately.
Is Hootsuite metered on people or on accounts?
Both, and that is the part people miss. You pay per seat per month, and the entry plan also caps you at ten connected social accounts. Standard allows ten, Professional and Advanced allow unlimited. A small team with a lot of profiles therefore buys Professional to raise a ceiling rather than to gain a capability, and a large team with three profiles pays per head regardless.
Is Hootsuite a better product than Zoho Social?
As a standalone social suite it is the deeper of the two, the listening is stronger and the AI assistant is better, and we would rather say that than pretend otherwise. Zoho Social wins on a narrower point. It is already inside the estate where your customers, your tickets and your campaigns live, so a comment can open a ticket instead of sitting in a separate dashboard, and bought from us it arrives with somebody to run it.
Does Zoho Social connect to the rest of Zoho?
That is the reason to choose it. Social writes into CRM, Campaigns, Desk and Analytics directly, so somebody who comments on a post can land on the contact record and an angry one can open a ticket without anybody pasting a screenshot into an email.
What exactly do you do for five hundred a month?
We connect the channels and set the permissions, decide with you what each account is actually for, build and fill the content calendar, set up the approval workflow, monitor the streams and triage the inbox, run the listening for your brand and your competitors, build the reporting, and connect it to CRM, Campaigns, Desk and Analytics. The figure covers the organization and does not move when you hire.
Who holds the Zoho Social license, you or us?
You do, and that is deliberate. The Social subscription is bought in your name and stays there. If you stop working with us you keep the account, every connected profile and every post in it, and carry on without a migration. Zoho Assist is the only service where we carry the license.
Can you move us off Hootsuite?
Yes, and it involves one step a straight rebuild does not. Alongside reconnecting the profiles and rebuilding the queue, any account nobody can justify gets closed rather than carried across. Migrating four dead channels faithfully is not a migration worth paying for.
Is there a minimum term?
No. Five hundred a month, month to month, thirty days’ notice. Every Hootsuite figure quoted on this page assumes annual billing, by their own footnote, so compare the commitment as well as the number.
What if we are only five people and three channels?
Then buy one or two Hootsuite seats, or start on Buffer at five dollars a channel, and keep your five hundred dollars. At that size the posting is small enough for one person to hold in their head. Come back when that stops being true.
What happens if we outgrow Zoho?
Some businesses do. Once you need regional teams with separate approval chains, paid campaign management at scale, or a regulated record of every public message, the ceiling is real and we will say so before you reach it.
