A Sprout Social Alternative for Teams Paying Per Seat and Then Per Add On

Sprout Social bills per seat, from seventy nine dollars on Essentials to three hundred and ninety nine on Advanced, and the listening and the premium analytics are add ons quoted on top of that. What none of it includes is the person who decides what you are posting about this quarter, writes it, and answers what comes back. We do that part, for Zoho Social, at five hundred dollars a month for the whole organization.

With Cascadia you get

  • Setup is included, not extra
  • Your team trained, not locked out
  • We manage your website as well
  • Migrations that keep your queue
  • Your accounts, your audience
  • Connected to the rest of Zoho

The short version

Why teams pick Cascadia over Sprout Social

We exist for the company that bought two seats on the strength of the reporting and now has beautiful reports about four posts. The software is not the problem.

What you get here

  • The reason for each channel gets settled before anything is scheduled
  • The posts written in your voice, not an AI assist button offered to you to press
  • A quarterly cull of the channels that stopped earning their place in the week
  • One figure for the organization, so the listening is not a separate line on a quote
  • The named writer who set your voice is still the one answering in month fourteen
  • A post that reads wrong caught in review, not after it is quoted back at you
  • Reply times and sentiment watched deliberately, not discovered in a monthly export
  • The comment and the ticket it becomes sit in one estate, with no integration to buy

What ships in the standard plan here

Three seats at two hundred each, a listening add on quoted separately, and a calendar that stopped in March.

Where the seat ends and the actual work starts

One invoice that already contains the listening, the reporting and the person writing the posts.

One figure, and the add ons are already inside it

Channel connection and permissions, the calendar and the queue, approvals, monitoring and inbox triage, brand and competitor listening, the reporting, and the wiring into CRM, Campaigns, Desk and Analytics.

Three Standard seats cost more than we do

Standard is one hundred and ninety nine dollars a seat a month. Two seats is three hundred and ninety eight and three is five hundred and ninety seven, so the third seat is where they pass us.

One named writer, rather than a rota

The person who worked out how your business ought to sound is the person still writing in month fourteen. No handover, no new account manager to brief, and no ticket queue standing between you and them.

The listening lands beside the record, not in a separate tool

Zoho Social writes into CRM, Campaigns, Desk and Analytics directly, and none of that is an add on. Somebody who mentions you in public can become a lead or a ticket without a second subscription in between.

Who this comparison is for

Two hundred dollars a seat, and still only five profiles

Standard is one hundred and ninety nine dollars a seat a month and connects five social profiles, the same five that Essentials gives you at seventy nine.

Listening and premium analytics sit on no tier at all

Sprout sells Listening and Premium Analytics as add ons available on Standard and above, and neither carries a published price. Employee Advocacy, Professional Services and Influencer Marketing are the same.

Single sign on and priority support mean a sales call

The Sprout API, helpdesk integrations, sentiment in the inbox and message spike alerts all sit on Advanced at three hundred and ninety nine a seat.

How switching works

  1. 1

Nothing gets scheduled until each channel has a reason to exist

We start from the reports you already have. If the last quarter of posting cannot be tied to something the business actually wanted, that is worth knowing before we add sixty more posts to it.

  2. 2

We count the profiles you are paying for and the ones you have forgotten

Sprout meters seats and caps profiles by tier, so this audit usually pays for itself.

  3. 3

The voice, the cadence and the escalation path get written down

What each channel is for, how often it posts and in whose voice, what happens when somebody complains in public, and who is expected to reply within the hour.

  4. 4

You run a full month on it, through one real campaign and everything it draws

The first month runs with us alongside it. Anything that reads wrong gets fixed while we are still in the room, before it hardens into a house style nobody actually chose.

How does Sprout Social compare to Hootsuite, Buffer and Agorapulse?

Buffer is the cheapest by a distance and meters per channel rather than per person, at five dollars a channel a month on Essentials. Agorapulse runs from seventy nine a user a month and caps every paid tier at ten profiles. Hootsuite is ninety nine, one hundred and ninety nine and three hundred and ninety nine a user a month. Sprout runs seventy nine to three hundred and ninety nine and then quotes the listening on top. All four will schedule a post. None of them decides what goes in it.

Does every Sprout tier give you the whole platform?

No, and Sprout is clear about it. The Trellis AI agent and the mobile apps are on every plan, but unlimited profiles start on Professional, the API and helpdesk integrations start on Advanced, and Listening and Premium Analytics are not on any tier at all. Those two are add ons available from Standard upward and neither carries a published price.

Which Sprout capabilities sit on the higher tiers?

Professional adds unlimited social profiles, message tagging, competitor and paid insights, and AI Assist for composing. Advanced adds AI Assist for replies, sentiment in the inbox and reviews, the Sprout API, helpdesk integrations, team productivity reporting and message spike alerts. Enterprise adds white glove onboarding, single sign on and priority support. Brand keywords run none, ten, ten and twenty across the four published tiers.

What is not on the tier list at all?

Whether the thing you published last Tuesday was worth publishing. Whether your audience has heard it three times already. What your engagement should have been, and whether the number in the dashboard is a bad one. Who is on call for the comment that arrives at nine on a Friday night. No tier of any platform sells that. It is a job somebody has to hold.

We already pay for Sprout Social. Why would I pay you five hundred a month on top?

Often you should not, and we say so regularly. Where a marketing team already fills the calendar and works the inbox, our fee buys you a second version of work that is getting done. Call us when that team shrinks, or when the reports start describing very little activity.

At what point does Sprout Social stop being the cheaper answer?

At the third Standard seat. One is one hundred and ninety nine, two is three hundred and ninety eight and three is five hundred and ninety seven against our five hundred. A single Essentials seat is seventy nine, which is six times cheaper than we are, and we are not going to dress that up. Remember the two figures are different things. Theirs is software before any add on. Ours is somebody writing and answering, and you buy the Zoho Social license separately.

Is Sprout metered on people or on profiles?

Both, and the profile half is the one that catches people. You pay per seat per month, and Essentials and Standard each connect five social profiles regardless of what you paid. Unlimited profiles arrive on Professional at two hundred and ninety nine a seat, charged across the whole team rather than only the person who needed the sixth profile.

Is Sprout Social a better product than Zoho Social?

On reporting and listening, yes, and it is not close. Sprout’s analytics are the best in this category and we would rather say so than argue the point. Zoho Social wins on a narrower one. It sits inside the estate where your customers, your tickets and your campaigns already live, so a public comment can become a lead or a ticket without a second subscription, and bought from us it arrives with somebody to run it.

Does Zoho Social connect to the rest of Zoho?

That is the whole reason to choose it. Social writes into CRM, Campaigns, Desk and Analytics directly, so a prospect who comments on a post lands on the contact record and a complaint can open a ticket, with no integration to buy and nothing to export.

What exactly do you do for five hundred a month?

We connect the channels and set the permissions, agree with you what each account is for, build and fill the content calendar, set up approvals, monitor the streams and triage the inbox, run the brand and competitor listening, build the reporting, and wire it into CRM, Campaigns, Desk and Analytics. The figure covers the organization and nothing in that list is quoted separately.

Who holds the Zoho Social license, you or us?

You do, and that is deliberate. The Social subscription is bought in your name and stays there. If you stop working with us you keep the account, the connected profiles and the whole posting history, and carry on without a migration. Zoho Assist is the only service where we carry the license.

Can you move us off Sprout Social?

Yes, and the audit comes first for a reason. Reconnecting profiles is mechanical work. Deciding which of them should not be reconnected is the part that saves money, and it is exactly the part a straight migration skips.

Is there a minimum term?

No. Five hundred a month, month to month, thirty days’ notice. Every Sprout figure on this page is the annual billing rate and the add ons are quoted separately, so compare the commitment and the total rather than the headline.

What if we are only five people and three channels?

Then buy one Essentials seat at seventy nine dollars, or run Buffer for rather less than that, and keep your five hundred. At that size one person can hold the whole thing in their head. Come back when they cannot.

What happens if we outgrow Zoho?

Some do. The tell is usually governance rather than volume: several business units posting under one brand, legal wanting an auditable record of everything published, or paid spend large enough to need its own approvals.
