OneDrive alternative
A Managed Alternative To OneDrive
Managed Zoho WorkDrive puts every company file in shared Team Folders that belong to the business rather than to whoever created them. We migrate you off Google Drive, Dropbox, SharePoint, or your file server, design the folder structure and permissions, roll out TrueSync to desktops and phones, and keep sharing, storage, and retention under review every month. It runs inside the Zoho account your company owns.
With Cascadia you get
- Migration is included, not extra
- Your team trained, not confused
- We will say when WorkDrive is wrong
- Structure designed before anything moves
- Your account, your data
- Connected to the rest of Zoho
The short version
What you get here instead of OneDrive
File storage is where a company’s access decisions go to be forgotten. A folder gets shared with a contractor for one project, the project ends, and the share stays exactly where it was.
What you get here
- Migration From Drive, Dropbox, Or SharePoint
- File Server & NAS Consolidation
- TrueSync Desktop & Mobile Rollout
- Folder Taxonomy & Naming Standards
- Storage Planning & Consumption Reporting
- Labels, Metadata & Search Tuning
- Role Based Permissions Per Team Folder
- External Sharing & Guest Access
What ships in the standard plan here
One price covers the lot. There is no upgrade tier holding a feature back.

Where the service earns its keep
Multiply that by three years and nobody can tell you who outside the business can currently read what. So external links get audited on a schedule and expired once the reason for them has passed.
Your account, your data
Your WorkDrive organization, your files, your version history, and your Zoho subscription all sit in an account registered to your company. Nothing lives behind an agency login, and we hold no copy of your data.
Connected to the rest of Zoho
We align WorkDrive with Zoho Directory so accounts come from one source, build filing and approval workflows in Zoho Flow, and connect Zoho Sign so contracts get signed without leaving the folder they live in.
Migration is included, not extra
Agencies usually quote a project fee to move your files across, then a retainer to look after the result. We fold both into one monthly rate with no separate setup charge.
Your team trained, not confused
We train your staff on TrueSync, sharing, and search, train your admins on the settings they own, and leave written notes behind for the next hire. You handle the daily work and send us the structural changes.
Who this comparison is for
Teams still working from a shared drive
If your files live on a mapped network drive, three personal Google accounts, and a Dropbox somebody set up in 2019, this is the common cleanup.
Businesses facing an audit or security questionnaire
When a client or an auditor asks how you control access to documents, a shared folder link is not an answer.
Teams with no dedicated IT administrator
Somewhere between the office manager and the founder, file management became nobody’s job.
How our managed Zoho WorkDrive service works
Whether you are starting from a network drive nobody has tidied since 2018 or moving off Google Drive, the sequence is the same. We get the structure right first, then the sync and integrations, then the reporting.
- 1
We assess your current setup
First we look at how things run today: what you already pay for, what is configured where, and which parts are actually causing you trouble.
- 2
We design the structure and migrate your files
Duplicates and abandoned versions get dropped rather than carried across, and your admins are set up before anybody else is invited.
- 3
We roll out TrueSync and connect your Zoho stack
Next come the pieces that make the file system hold up, meaning TrueSync on Windows and Mac, the iOS and Android apps, directory sync with Zoho Directory, Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Okta, or Google Workspace, single sign on, enforced two factor, external sharing and link policies, and retention rules.
- 4
We keep access clean as you grow
From there you get the ongoing work, meaning new user provisioning, offboarding and file ownership transfers, permission and sharing changes, monthly storage and external access reviews, audit exports when somebody asks for them, and a written summary of who can reach what.
How OneDrive works
What OneDrive does, in their own words
OneDrive for work or school is Microsoft’s per-user cloud storage. It comes with Microsoft 365 and Office 365 plans or as a standalone plan, and it is managed from the SharePoint admin center. The points below were read in September 2026.
Taken from OneDrive service description, Overview of OneDrive in Microsoft 365. Checked September 2026.

OneDrive alternative questions
Straight answers about switching, pricing, and what moves with you.
See Managed Zoho WorkDriveWhat does Cascadia do that OneDrive leaves to me?
We run WorkDrive for you, and the data stays yours. Your WorkDrive organization, your files, your version history, and your Zoho subscription all sit in an account registered to your company. Nothing lives behind an agency login, and we hold no copy of your data.
How does WorkDrive compare to Google Drive or Dropbox?
WorkDrive is closer to Google Drive with shared drives than to consumer Dropbox. The real differences are in control: the Team Folder permission model is more granular, and the external sharing defaults are tighter. Google Workspace has broader third party app support, and that is a fair reason to stay where you are. Pricing depends on your seat count and plan tier, so we run that comparison against your actual numbers instead of quoting a headline figure. If you already pay for Zoho One, WorkDrive is in there.
Who owns the WorkDrive account and the files in it?
You do. The WorkDrive organization, the files, the version history, and the Zoho subscription sit in an account registered to your company, with your people as administrators. We work inside your account. Nothing needs handing back, because it was never anywhere else.
Should we get Zoho WorkDrive on its own or take Zoho One?
It depends how much Zoho you run. If WorkDrive is the only app you need, the standalone plan is the cheaper answer. Once you are using three or four apps, meaning CRM, Mail, Books, Desk, and the rest, Zoho One usually costs less than the separate subscriptions and includes WorkDrive storage. We will run that comparison against your actual app list.
What is managed Zoho WorkDrive?
We run your file system at a flat monthly rate. That covers the initial workspace and Team Folder build, migration from whatever you use now, TrueSync rollout to desktops and phones, permission design, external sharing controls, retention and recovery settings, and the ongoing work of adding people and adjusting access as the company grows.
What does Zoho WorkDrive actually do?
Zoho WorkDrive is a cloud file platform built for teams. Files live in shared Team Folders, so ownership belongs to the company and not to whoever happened to create the document. It includes the Writer, Sheet, and Show editors, version history, granular permissions, external sharing with expiry controls, desktop sync through TrueSync, and admin reporting on access and storage.
Do we pay for the Zoho WorkDrive license separately?
Yes. Our fee covers running WorkDrive, not the Zoho license, and the subscription stays in an account registered to your company. If you already have Zoho One, WorkDrive is included in it along with a storage allocation, so plenty of companies are paying for it already and have never set it up. We will tell you which position you are in before you commit.
Can you migrate us from Google Drive, Dropbox, or SharePoint?
Yes, and it is the most common reason people call us about WorkDrive. We handle Google Drive, Dropbox, Box, OneDrive, SharePoint, and local file servers. The work covers exporting your content, removing duplicates and abandoned versions, agreeing what gets archived, rebuilding the structure in Team Folders, and mapping old sharing permissions onto WorkDrive roles so nobody arrives on Monday locked out.
How long does a WorkDrive migration take?
Two to four weeks from kickoff to cutover for most organizations. The file transfer is often the fastest part. What takes the time is deciding the Team Folder structure and working out who should see what, then clearing years of accumulated duplicates before they get copied into the new system. Several terabytes sitting on an old file server takes longer, and we agree that timeline in writing before starting.
What is the difference between Team Folders and My Folders?
My Folders is personal space tied to one user account. A Team Folder belongs to the organization, so membership, roles, and ownership sit with the company. Anything the business depends on belongs in a Team Folder. When the person who built it leaves, the files stay exactly where they are and nobody has to recover them from a deactivated account.
